This item appears as new throughout except as mentioned above. Acquired by us in 2007 as part of a large collection but never played since.

Dardanus is the third of Rameau's six Tragedies en musique. First performed in 1739,  the opera was drastically rewritten for its revival in 1744,  and numerous further changes were made by Rameau subsequently.  This version, prepared by Raymond Leppard,  is mainly based on the 1744 version but incoporating the best parts of thhe earlier score.
