This item appears as new throughout except as mentioned above. Acquired by us in 2007 as part of a large collection but never played since.

No need to introduce the work which is universally known as one of Wagner's finest if most serious   music dramas.  Wagner began work on the text in 1877 and finished the score in 1882, having read Eschenbach's Parzival back in 1845. It was premiered at Bayreuth on 26 July 1882 and received 16 performances in its first year.  This 5-disc set includes a superbly produced booklet with the libretto and copious notes in German, French, English and Italian.
