The Jacobin is a three-act comic opera by Dvorak, first performed in 1889 to great acclaim, unlike some his earlier operas which had failed to gain public approval.  Changes to the librettoo and extensive musical alterations, were made for performance in 1897. A full Czech cast in this 1980 recording
