Splendid 1982 recording of Rossini's "Moses in Egypt" with Ruggero Raimondo and other leading soloists, the Ambrosian Opera Chorus and the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Claudio Scimone. Recorded in the UK, manufactured by Philips in the Netherlands but a UK issue. In practically new condition, possibly played once.

This item appears as new throughout. Acquired by us in 2007 as part of a large collection but never played since. The opera was firat performed in 1818, was significantly revised in 1827 as "Moise et Phareon" (in French) and this version became popular. The original was forgotten until restored by Claudio Scimone and others in the 1980s.
